Repeat Prescriptionsblue_yellow_pills

We understand how important it is to deal quickly and accurately with your prescription requests.  We have also made the ordering process as simple and flexible as possible.

Requesting prescriptions

Ordering In Person

You can request your items by placing your re-order form in our prescription request box situated next to our reception desk, or posting your form to us.

Ordering on the Internet

Some of our patients find that it is easier to order their prescriptions on-line.

If you would like to register for this service, please bring proof of address and photo ID to the sugery for a registration form, then visit

Dockham Road Surgery on-line services.

Ordering on the telephone

We know that we are one of the few practices who accept requests over the telephone and we believe this is a valuable service to our patients.  However, we can only process your request if you know the correct names for your items.  The easiest way to manage this is if you keep your re-order form to hand when calling us.

You can call the surgery between 2:00 - 4:00 pm to request your items.  When you listen to the automated system, please listen to the recorded message and select the option for "prescription requests".

Prescription processing time

We pride ourselves on completing your requests in 24 hours. This means that items requested before 12:00 noon will be available on the next working day after 12:00 noon. Any items requested after 12:00 noon will be available on the next working day after 4:00pm.

Please remember to order your items early if you are going on holiday and to keep in mind dates when the practice is closed such for bank holidays and practice training dates.

Chemist Collection Service

Most of the local chemists run a collection service and are happy to pick up your prescription from the surgery. To save confusion, please be clear whether you would like this to happen when ordering your items.

Prescriptions can also be sent electronically to a chemist of your choice.  Please contact your chosen chemist for advice on prescription process time.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
